Please notice(!):

To drive a snowmobile or ATV in Svalbard, you must have a driver’s license for passenger car/class B.

The driver’s license must have been issued in a country that is a party to the Geneva Convention of 1949 or the Vienna Convention of 1968 on road traffic. Digital certificate is only valid if it is issued in Norway. You do not need additional documentation if your driving licence meets the model requirement under one of the conventions. All driving licences from EU/EEA countries meet this requirement. If your driving licence is from a country outside the EU/EEA, you should check if it meets the model requirement under one of the conventions.

See our websites for more information about driver's licenses in Svalbard here.

The guide will check the licence of each driver on the trip and refuse participation if necessary. The driver’s license must be carried throughout the tour. When booking a driver with a passenger, be advised that driving with a passenger is harder than driving alone. Out of safety considerations, we may need to change the balance between the number of drivers and passengers on the trip. We recommend wearing warm wool socks, wool gloves/mittens, warm woolen underwear, shell pants and a warm wool/fleece sweater underneath the ATV suit. If you use glasses we recommend driving without them if possible, or to wear contact lenses if possible.

Guests/clients are advised that all activities are undertaken entirely at their own risk.
