PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Boat safaris are not suitable for persons suffering from back pains. Pregnant women cannot participate on any boat safaris arranged by Basecamp Spitsbergen. Basecamp takes no responsibility to any health issues.

LANGUAGE:
Safety is our top priority during our trips. It is necessary for you to be able to communicate in English or a Scandinavian language if you want to join our excursions. The tour language (English or a Scandinavian language) will be chosen based on the group's language skills.

CLOTHING:
Even if the days are longer and warmer, it's still cold in Svalbard during the summer. We recommed bringing a windproof hat, gloves, and neck warmer or scarf. Sun protection and sun glasses is also a necessity. You can also bring an extra layer of clothing in your backpack, a water bottle and snack.

WEATHER CONDITIONS IN SVALBARD:
In Svalbard, weather conditions can change quickly. We can meet heavy winds, rough sea or thick fog. This means we might need to make changes to the planned route, and this might lead up to changes in the planned adventure program. We will always do our outmost to give our guests a great experience in the Arctic, but we must be aware that characteristics of the destination.
