DISCOVER ISFJORD RADIO ADVENTURE HOTEL 3- days summer adventure to Isfjord Radio DAY 1 3PM Pick up at your hotel or guesthouse in Longyearbyen. 3.15PM Departure by boat to Isfjord Radio. We head towards Isfjord Radio with a steady course westward. The crossing takes about an hour, based on current weather conditions. At arrival you will be warmly welcomes by your hosts for the next days. 5PM-6.30PM Join us for a walk of this historical radio station and learn the special history of the destination. Enjoy your afternoon by exploring the library, an Arctic spa or simply relax with a nice drink and the view from the living room window. 8PM We gather for an Arctic inspired menu served from the kitchen. Please advise if you have any food allergies that we need to keep in mind. This is an important information for the chef’s meal preparation, due to the remote location. DAY 2 After a good night’s sleep, you will wake up to an unforgettable view. Enjoy your morning coffee or tea with a panoramic view of Mount Grieg, Cape Linné bird sanctuary and the Arctic ocean. 8AM-10AM Breakfast. 10AM – 4 PM: We organize day trips which you can book in addition to your stay at Isfjord Radio all days of the week. We offer the following day trips: - 5-hour RIB safari to the north side of Isfjorden. Our destinations are Trygghamna and Ymerbukta. In Trygghamna we meet the eye-catching landmark Alkehornet, a large bird mountain surrounded by a lush and beautiful landscape. Historically, Trygghamna is known as a sheltered bay. Here sailors could rest after challenging voyages in Arctic waters. We continue our trip to Ymerbukta, where the scenic Esmarkbreen plunges into the sea. As we bob between small icebergs in the green glacial water, you can hear the ice crackling. - We can also recommend joining your Isfjord Radio guide on one of his favorite tracks along the old radio poles that lead away from the historic radio station. With various route options, we take you on a day in Arctic nature. The trip will be around 10-16 km. 8PM Enjoy a new and exciting menu from our kitchen.
