Join us in summer for a dive into the wilderness of Svalbard, on our two-day hiking experience along the beautiful coastline of the Isfjord, towards a historical mining settlement. Walk with us through deep valleys, be on the lookout for wildlife and reach high peaks with amazing views! This hike will push you further into the wilderness and gives you a true Arctic nature experience. We will start our expedition at our basecamp, where we prepare our trip. After a safety briefing, we will drive along the coastline towards our starting point - the beautiful valley of Bjørndalen. This valley is known for its rich flora and fauna and many wildlife sightings. Be on the lookout for the Arctic Fox, Svalbard Reindeer and many birds who are nesting on the mountains during summer. We will hike through the valley, where we need to cross a river before we can start climbing up the mountain, making our way towards the summit of Fuglefjella. Reaching the summit will give us an amazing view over the Isjord. Look as far as your eyes can see and enjoy the sight of the glaciers across the fjord. Here we will take a moment of true Arctic silence! After reaching the summit we will make our way down, hiking towards an old Soviet mining settlement - Grumantbyen. Near this area we will set up camp for the night. Listen to interesting stories of your guide about the rich history of Svalbard, whilst enjoying a warm expedition dinner. After a good sleep and breakfast we will pack up our gear for another full day of nature hiking. Follow your guide for another exciting day and be amazed about the beauty around you. We will take a different route back, bringing you slowly back to town - into civilization.
