Our main focus is on the Atlantic puffin – one of the Arctic's most colourful and charismatic seabirds. During the breeding season, puffins gather at the bird cliffs along the coast, where we can observe and photograph them resting on the water, nesting on the cliffs, and returning from fishing trips with beaks full of food for their chicks. Travelling by boat allows us to position ourselves for the best viewing and photography opportunities while minimizing disturbance to the birds. We spend time watching puffins take off from the cliffs, skim across the water, and navigate back to their nesting sites. In addition to puffins, the bird cliffs are home to a rich variety of Arctic seabirds. Depending on the day and location, we may also encounter northern fulmars, black guillemots, kittiwakes, Brünnich's guillemots, little auks, and other species that thrive along Svalbard's rugged coastline. Whether you are an experienced photographer or simply enjoy wildlife, your guide will help you capture beautiful images and make the most of the encounter. The small-group format ensures plenty of space and flexibility to focus on photography and observation.
