The trip goes up to 350 above sea level. Towards the top of Platåfjellet. We use a narrow path that winds up to a small flat plateau just below the top. Here we take a break and enjoy the evening sun which does not disappear. We have a great bird's eye view over the steep mountainside that goes down to Longyearbyen and magnificent views of the fjord and mountains around the city. We get close to the little alke king that flies under us in large flocks. If we are lucky, we can also see the little polar fox that lives on the mountainside.
