After picking you up from your accommodation, we will start with a sightseeing tour by car all around Longyearbyen and to the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. Carved deep into the permafrost, the Seed Vault preserves an incredible array of the world’s species of plants. Your knowledgeable guide will share some insight about the Global Seed Vault. Also Svalbard’s important place in the world of science and conservation. Important! We will not be able to enter the Vault since the entrance is forbidden to the public. Depending on the preference of the group, we can prioritize and spend either more time sightseeing and stopping for photos, or bird watching. Or to take a little Tundra walk to discover Svalbards Flora during the short Arctic Summer. It is all up to you, depending on what interests the group in a total the most. Before we take you back to your hotel, we will finish our tour at Villmarkssenter`s dog kennel in Adventdalen, where you can meet their lovely pack of Alaskan Huskies. Between the months of May and July, the dogyard is surrounded by the 3rd biggest Eider Duck colony in the Icefjords (over 250 nesting birds).
