The trip on foot up to the cave, about 2 hours, takes us through the glacier deposit layer and further up the Larsbreen glacier. Due to the snow, we use snowshoes - which makes this part of the trip both fun and easy. Up on the glacier it is like a fantastic, white desert with blue and turquoise ice here and there. It is very scenic, and high mountains surround us and make it even more spectacular. At the entrance to the ice cave we put on helmets and headlamps. The guide gives safety instructions and leads you safely into a blue adventure world that will take your breath away. Inside the ice cave there is no wind and something warmer than outside in the open air. Here is a completely unique atmosphere; calm, untouched and total silence in 1000 year old ice. Hot drinks and snacks will also be served inside the cave.
